Baptizo can variously mean pour, sprinkle, dip, immerse - mode of baptism isn't important IMO.
(*waits for the inevitable link to "but there are other words used for sprinkle and pour"* to which I premptively answer "the problem with that line of argumentation is that you're arguing from a position of what you THINK should be used, not what's actually used in the text. JW's use the same line of argumentation when they go looking for Jesus to directly say "I am God" and when they don't specifically find those three words, despite whatever else is found, they conclude - wrongly - that Jesus isn't God. Instead, there's plenty of archaeological and etymological evidence to show that the word had various meanings even 200 years before Christ. Third, the early church doesn't mention any controversy with the various modes of baptism, showing that this - the mode of baptism- wasn't an issue.)
