Wanted to ask this over here, and this is not meant to ruffle any feathers. I want some guidance and insight from you guys.

I have a few friends who claim to be passionate, Christ-loving Southern Baptist men and women. They go to every "college" service they can, (although, I am not seeing much fruit being borne) and they at least claim to believe the Bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of God.

However, many of these men and women are strong supporters of homosexual marriage, and come at their views with the stance of, "No Hate. Equality for all." While I understand their premise -- yes, there should be no hatred, and we as Christians should still embrace everyone with the love of Christ, regardless of what kind of sin they're living in, and let the Gospel permeate through the way we live OUR lives, in order that we might be presented with an opportunity to present it to them -- BUT, I don't understand how a Christ-professing Christian can support something that is blatantly declared as sinful in the Bible.

One argument I always hear is, "We shouldn't legislate morality. We need to uphold the separation of church and state." But, why? Why, as Christians, should we not care that there are laws being drawn up in our lost, sick, country that blatantly contradict the Bible. If we support these laws, aren't we basically expressing our support for that sin? It doesn't make sense to me, and I just cannot understand it. It's one thing to not discriminate and to show the love of Christ to homosexuals, non-believers, etc. But to enable and support a law(s) that contradicts the truths expressed in the Bible is wrong, to me.

If I'm out of line, please let me know. I just wanted to get some of YOUR insight on this, and explanations. Sorry to vent. Figured this was the best place to do it.
